In summary, last night we talked about: The power to change our stories comes with the challenge of grasping what that calls for day-to-day in terms of our thought patterns, self-talk, and how we express ourselves. It involves integrating our knowledge and self-discovery into our expression and behavior. We can observe ourselves with curiosity to see how our thought patterns and lifestyles either support or take away from the new stories we are crafting. Our thoughts and words are the building blocks of our creative power, as they affect how our stories unfold. I shared a trauma-aware exercise for developing affirmations—or what I call actionable value statements—for the aspirational beliefs that we want to embody, but have doubts (which often come from emotional wounds) in the way.
Your activity this week is to: Self-Discovery. Continue working with the value statement exercise. Notice what beliefs you’re ready to shift, and which ones still need more exploration. For the exercise, only choose beliefs that you feel ready to work with. Notice the inner conflicts between your aspirational and limiting beliefs. For the areas that feel stuck or tender, try taking it through the deeper why exercise.
Our final session will take place on Wednesday, April 29 at 6 pm et. We’ll take time to discuss whatever you feel ready to share, whether it’s something you wrote or reflections on the process, including any efforts, challenges, or insights that emerged along the way. We’ll also move through our final step, The Aligning, where we’ll name the choice that gets to the heart of the discoveries and questions we’ve explored throughout our time together.
