Welcome Page & FAQ’S
hi writers!
To start, please fill out the entry form here if you haven’t already.
I also recommend that you review the Workshop Schedule & Materials page. There you will find the link to register for the Zoom info, and this is where materials will be saved after each session.
Take your time to browse the Story Work Toolbox, which I will add to as needed, as we go through the series.
FAQs
Feel free to email me if you have questions that are not answered here.
I CAN’T ATTEND ALL OF THE LIVE SESSIONS, WILL THEY BE RECORDED?
Yes, all the sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the member area the next day.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I SHOW UP FOR the INTERACTIVE SESSIONs?
Each live session will feature a reading from the book, guided writing exercises, open discussion, and a Q&A. Our weekly focus will be on self-discovery, and you'll be encouraged to explore your ideas further through prose or poetry in the week that follows. At the start of each session, we’ll reflect on the previous week’s writing experience together. You won’t be expected to present polished or finished work, and while sharing is always welcomed, it’s never required. However, I will invite each of you to speak about the themes you're exploring and the insights you're uncovering in your writing.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I SHOW UP FOR A COWRITING SESSION?
Cowriting sessions take place on Tuesdays from 6 - 7 pm et and on Thursdays from 12 - 1 pm et. These are quiet, no-pressure sessions designed to help you set aside dedicated time for your writing and get words on the page. At the start of each session, we say hello, settle in, and then quietly write together for the remainder of the hour. No prompts, assignments, or sharing are required. You can use the time in whatever way serves your writing practice.
HOW DO I ACCESS THE STORY WORK EXERCISES ON SUBSTACK?
If you do not already have access, I have added the email address that you signed up to the intensive with to my Substack so you can access the paywalled content. If you have any trouble, or would like me to use a different email address, please let me know.
DO I NEED TO HAVE READ THE BOOK TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INTENSIVE?
Nope. You do not need to have read Story Work to participate in the intensive. The exercises and ideas we explore together are designed to stand on their own, so you can jump right in whether you’ve read the book, are currently reading it, or haven’t picked it up yet.
