The Story Beneath the Writing: A Creative Reset for Writers
The Story Beneath the Writing: A Creative Reset for Writers
Friday, July 17 | 6:30 - 8 pm ET
What story are you telling yourself about your writing life?
This in-person workshop introduces a supportive practice that helps writers examine the inner narratives shaping their writing lives. Based on creative coach GG Renee Hill's book Story Work: Field Notes on Self-Discovery and Reclaiming Your Narrative, participants will be led through guided prompts to explore their motivations, clarify their vision, and go beyond external pressures to reconnect with the deeper meaning and purpose behind the work. We also look at the creative challenges and limiting beliefs that may be constraining their creative process, and how those struggles can become meaningful material for their work. The session helps writers see how their inner world informs their voice, themes, and creative direction. Participants leave with a clearer sense of purpose, a renewed relationship to their writing, and practical tools to move forward as the narrators of their creative journeys.
This event will take place at the DC Writer’s Salon, a studio and creative community for writers in Dupont Circle: 1807 18th Street, NW Washington, DC. To support an intimate and reflective experience, space is limited. Early registration is encouraged.
