Turning Your Writing Practice into a Creative Platform (Part Two: Practice to Presence Series)
Turning Your Writing Practice into a Creative Platform (Part Two: Practice to Presence Series)
Wednesday, November 19 from 6 pm - 8 pm et on Zoom
You’ve built a writing practice—now how do you begin sharing your words in a way that feels authentic, purposeful, and aligned with your life? Further, how can you give yourself permission to share in a way that feels like experimentation instead of performance?
In this workshop, we’ll explore how to turn personal writing into a creative platform that helps you connect with others. You’ll learn how to identify your key messages, clarify who you want to reach, and choose a sharing space that supports your goals. Together, we’ll shift from perfectionism and pressure to a mindset of experimentation and discovery.
The goal is to build a creative platform that you would pour your heart into and treasure, whether anyone else cared to engage with it or not. A creative platform can also be thought of as a project: a website, blog, newsletter, social media, podcast, a book project, or some other outlet that aligns with your needs, preferences, personality, and purpose.
We will focus on key messages, connecting with an audience, and choosing a platform or project.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have tools for shaping your writing into content that resonates, along with the mindset you need to begin showing up for your readers in a sustainable way.
Objectives:
✦ Clarify your intended audience: who you want to reach, why they matter to you, and how you want to connect.
✦ Shape your connective threads into core messages that speak to the audience you want to engage.
✦ Explore different sharing platforms (newsletter, blog, social media, podcast, etc.) and identify what feels energizing versus draining.
✦ Choose a starting point for engagement, how you want to introduce yourself and join the conversation.
✦ Adopt a mindset of experimentation, treating your platform as a creative lab rather than a performance stage.
✦ Create a simple, flexible plan to begin shaping personal writing into public content.
